Kinship Navigator Program

The Kinship Navigator Program provides assistance to non-DCP&P involved families caring for relative’s children, which include financial assistance for goods such as furniture, clothing, or funding for extra-curricular activities, and obtaining Kinship Legal Guardianship.

Servicing the following counties: Bergen, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and Warren Counties.

The Specialized Services of the Program Include

Case Management

Services

Information and Referral, and/or Linkage for Additional Services

Wraparound Services

Provides caregivers with financial assistance (up to $500 annually)

Kinship Legal Guardianship

Assists caregivers in obtaining guardianship through family court

Eligibility Requirements

Provide proof of:
• Relation by Blood, Marriage, or Kinship Legal Guardianship of Child
• Custody, or the child has been living in your home for one year
• Age

Documentation required:*
• Birth Certificates
• Proof of ID/Relationship
• Social Security Cards
• Court Records (Custody)
• Proof of Income
• Proof of Address

Caregivers must show these documents to determine eligibility; eligibility is also determined by household size and income.
